Rest in Peace, Pope Francis

Sad news out of the Vatican, as Pope Francis passed away early this morning; he was 88 years old. Please pray for the repose of the Holy Father’s soul, his family and friends, and our brothers and sisters who mourn his passing. Please also pray for the cardinals who will soon gather to elect the next pope, that they will be open to the guidance of the Holy Spirit.

O God, immortal shepherd of souls, look on your people’s prayers and grant that your servant Pope Francis, who presided over your Church in charity, may, with the flock entrusted to his care, receive from your mercy the reward of a faithful steward. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God, for ever and ever. Amen.
